Meet ANNA
Anna has over 15 years physiotherapy experience; gaining a wealth of clinical knowledge by working in the NHS, private practice and serving in the RAF. She is passionate about empowering individuals to manage symptoms and reduce the likihood of them returning, maximising their quality of life.
Anna Birch BSc (Hons) MSc
After qualifying with a BSc (Hons) Physiotherapy from the University of Birmingham, Anna worked in the NHS and private practice initially. She then joined the RAF and served for 12 years as a Physiotherapy Officer (manager and clinician), working on six different UK RAF bases and supporting operations and exercises overseas.
Anna initially specialised in musculoskeletal and sports physiotherapy, completing her MSc in Advanced Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy. Her award winning research was published in the BMJ and she presented it at the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy’s annual conference in 2019.
More recently Anna carried out specialist training in Women’s Health, and worked on planning and developing these services for women serving in the military. She combined this training with her extensive experience in exercise rehabilitation and injury prevention, helping postnatal women return to fitness for their military role.
Anna set up her own practice after leaving the military – wanting to build a more flexible working life around her two young children. She is passionate about empowering and helping women of all ages to overcome symptoms and maximise their quality of life. She is keen to spread accurate and evidence based information, and help bust the many myths that surround pelvic health symptoms, pregnancy, postanal recovery and exercise!
